Secret Santa

To get in the spirit of the holidays, the ladies of the Beltsville Richards office held a Secret Santa gift exchange! Everyone who participated wrote a short list to Santa with 3 gift ideas and names were then picked at random. The exchange not only a great way to get excited for the holidays, but also a great way to get to know some of our new(er) colleagues!

Costumes and Corn Hole

This year, Richards celebrated Halloween with its 6th annual Halloween party and costume contest!

Office personnel was encouraged to dress in costume as the 1st place winner would receive one full day of paid time off!! While everyone who participated in the costume contest looked great, this year’s winner was Project Manager, Brett Rhinevault who dressed as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken

The lunch-time celebration transitioned into a parking-lot party with a Corn Hole Wellness Contest as the office paired off to play against each other.

Brett also took first place in the Corn Hole competition with partner, Sr. Estimator, Danny Littleford.

The Colleen Classic

With the weather taking a turn for the “Best”, we are particularly happy about playing some golf at Blue Mash Country Club, in Laytonsville, MD, for a great cause.

Chuck Barber and a few others will be representing Richards at The Colleen Classic 2018 to Benefit Rosaria Communities. The Colleen Classic golf outing, named in memory of Colleen Mary Welch, the daughter of Rosaria co-founder, Tom Welch. Colleen had Down Syndrome, and died from a sudden illness in 2013 at age 22. Colleen was (and remains) the inspiration for Rosaria Communities.

Good luck to the group and hit’em well!

Helping Heroes

With the exciting introduction of our new logo, JE Richards took the opportunity to give back to veterans and their families.

This fall, boxes of JE Richards coats, polo shirts and Tervis insulated hot/cold cups with our former logo, were donated to the Military Order of the Purple Heart. The organization, which protects and funds the welfare and rehabilitation of Purple Heart veterans, does so through the collection of household items, the operation of thrift stores, donation of automobiles and at the community level from the annual distribution the Purple Heart Viola, their official flower.

We are so happy to have been able to give back to those who have selflessly served our country.
