Phalcon's New England branch, McPhee Electric, Ltd. has completed some pretty impressive projects over the years.  Most recently, they completed the installation of the Intelligent Transportation & Communications Systems infrastructure for the 9.4 mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system that travels between New Britain, Connecticut and the capitol city, Hartford.  This busway is one of the first of its kind with such specialized technology and is the longest bus rapid transit system in America.

The project was highlighted in Connecticut's CONNstruction magazine and we invite you to take a look.  View the CONNstruction project highlight here.

Phalcon Takes the Gold for Workplace Wellness

Phalcon, Ltd. is extremely delighted to announce a Gold Award from the Wellness Council of America’s Well Workplace award process.

This is a tremendous honor for our Phalcon Wellness Program’s first application for the award and we are so proud of the effort put forth by our committee members.   The leaders of Phalcon recognized the importance of employee well-being, and followed through by creating a wellness program in 2012. Since its establishment, the program has become an integral part of our everyday culture here at Phalcon.

The Well Workplace Awards recognize organizations that have built successful results-oriented wellness programs as defined by WELCOA’s Seven Benchmarks.  Those benchmarks include: Capturing CEO Support, Creating Cohesive Wellness Teams, Collecting Data to Drive Heath Efforts, Carefully Crafting and Operating Plan, Choosing Appropriate Interventions, Creating a Supportive Environment, and Carefully Evaluating Outcomes. Key interventions in physical activity, weight management, medical self-care, tobacco cessation, and stress management were highlighted in Phalcon’s application.

WELCOA is one of the nation’s most-respected resources for building high-performing healthy workplaces. Since the Well Workplace Awards inception in 1991, over 1,000 corporations, healthcare systems, public agencies, and educational institutions – employing over two million people – have met those criteria and have been recognized as some of America’s Healthiest Companies. At Phalcon we are committed to continue to improve our wellness program and strive to obtain additional WELCOA accomplishments in the future.
